BUDGET What do you want to spend including labor, materials, appliances, fixtures, flooring, decorating etc. This helps me avoid over-design or under-design for your budget.

FIXTURES
Make a GENERIC list of products you would like from an appliance store or a plumbing showroom. Kitchen Example: gas or electric burners, one or two ovens, stainless, white or color sink. Bathroom Example: one sink or two, separate shower and tub, or tub/shower combo, bidet or not, separate cubicle for toilet.

YOUR PRIORITIES Priorities are the key to customizing your room so YOU love it. (Somebody thought your old kitchen was perfect when they built it!) Jot down a "Want List" as ideas pop into your head. In a few days, go back and circle the 3 things you want most. What do you dislike most now, and what did you love about the best kitchen or bath you ever saw? Examples: more storage or counter, better lighting or layout, or a particular style. Be specific. "No more grout lines" narrows it down better than "New countertops."

DIRECTIONS TO
YOUR HOME

SCALE DRAWINGS *Optional Find scale drawings of your existing kitchen or bath, or draw the room in 1/2" = 1' scale. Measure all in inches (60") rather than feet and inches (6'0"). Include the width of moldings (if you have them) in the width of any doors or windows (a 32" door will measure 36" or more when you include the moldings.) Do not include width of moldings in wall measurements. Get an overall measurement each direction to double check yourself.

GATHER PICTURES *Optional, assemble magazine pictures to give an idea of the features or styling you want in yor kitchen or bath. (It is not necessary for you to send me the images via email).
